hand sign
Finger-formed communication
A hand sign is a gesture made with the hand to communicate meaning—from the thumbs-up indicating approval to the peace sign to gang signs marking affiliation.
Some hand signs are universal, others culturally specific: the "OK" gesture means approval in America but is offensive in parts of Europe and South America.
