half-time
Between the periods
Half-time is the interval between the two halves of a sporting event, typically lasting ten to twenty minutes.
Players rest, coaches strategize, and spectators are entertained—marching bands and elaborate performances are fixtures of American football half-times.
As an adjective or adverb, half-time describes working half the standard hours: She works half-time while finishing her degree.
Also spelled halftime.
