a tempo
Back to normal
A tempo is a musical direction meaning "return to the original speed." It appears after a passage where tempo has been altered—by a ritardando, accelerando, or rubato—signaling performers to resume the pace established at the beginning: The score marked a tempo after the fermata.
From Italian, literally "in time."
