gynarchy

Women hold power

Gynarchy is government or rule by women—the female counterpart to patriarchy.

The term appears mostly in political theory, feminist discourse, and speculative fiction imagining societies where women hold institutional power: The novel depicted a gynarchy where men were excluded from political office.

Sometimes used in BDSM contexts to describe female-dominant relationship dynamics.
