grapeskin
Wine's color source
Grapeskin is the outer covering of a grape, the thin membrane that encloses the fruit's flesh and juice.
In winemaking, contact between juice and grapeskins during fermentation determines color and tannin levels—red wines get their hue from extended skin contact.
The grapeskins were left in the vat for three weeks.
