glow plug
Cold engine igniter
A glow plug is a heating element in diesel engines that warms the combustion chamber to help start the engine in cold conditions.
Unlike gasoline engines that use spark plugs, diesels rely on compression heat to ignite fuel—glow plugs provide supplemental warmth when the engine block is too cold for reliable ignition.
