geekery
Obsessive fandom territory
Geekery is enthusiastic, sometimes obsessive engagement with niche interests—particularly technology, gaming, comics, or science fiction.
The term embraces what was once dismissive: I spent the weekend deep in Star Wars geekery.
It can describe both the activity and the culture surrounding it: The convention was a celebration of geekery in all its forms.
