fuel gauges
Dashboard level displays
Fuel gauges is the plural of fuel gauge, an instrument that displays how much fuel remains in a tank.
Most familiar on vehicle dashboards, where the needle moves between F (full) and E (empty): The fuel gauge was broken, so we ran out of gas on the highway.
Also found on generators, boats, and aircraft.
