fruit curd
Tangy butter spread
Fruit curd is a thick, creamy spread made by cooking fruit juice or puree with sugar, eggs, and butter until it thickens.
Lemon curd is the most common variety, but any citrus or tart fruit works: lime curd, passion fruit curd.
It's used as a filling for tarts and cakes, or spread on scones and toast.
