frottage

Texture transfer technique

Frottage has two distinct meanings.

In art, it's a technique of rubbing pencil or crayon over paper placed on a textured surface to transfer the pattern—used for gravestone rubbings or as a surrealist method.

In sexual contexts, frottage is rubbing against another person's body for arousal, whether consensual or, in crowds, nonconsensual: arrested for frottage on the subway.
