indecent assault
Unwanted sexual contact
Indecent assault is a legal term for sexual contact that falls short of rape—groping, fondling, or other unwanted touching of a sexual nature.
The term appears more often in British and Commonwealth law than American, where similar offenses may be called sexual assault or sexual battery.
