front court
Near the basket
Front court refers to the offensive half of a basketball court—the area containing the basket a team is trying to score on.
Once players cross halfcourt with the ball, they're in the front court and cannot return to the back court without penalty.
The term also describes the players who typically operate near the basket: centers and power forwards, as opposed to guards.
Their front court dominated the boards all game.
