frisket
Paper-holding press frame
A frisket is a thin masking material used to protect areas from paint or ink.
In airbrushing and illustration, artists cut frisket film to shield parts of a surface while applying color to exposed areas: She laid down frisket over the highlights before spraying the background.
In traditional letterpress printing, a frisket is the frame that holds the sheet in place and keeps margins clean.
