frisking
Checking for weapons
Frisking is the act of running hands over someone's body and through their clothing to check for concealed items, especially weapons.
Police frisk suspects; security guards frisk concertgoers.
The word also covers a playful, energetic scampering: The puppy was frisking about the yard.
