frilled dragon
Neck-fanned lizard
A frilled dragon is an Australian lizard distinguished by the large membrane of skin around its neck that it can extend into a dramatic ruff when threatened or displaying.
Also called a frilled lizard or frill-necked lizard, it spends most of its time in trees and can run on its hind legs when fleeing danger.
The distinctive frill, which lies flat against the body when relaxed, makes it one of the most recognizable reptiles in the world.
