Northern Territory
Darwin's home region
Northern Territory is a federal territory in north-central Australia, covering a vast, sparsely populated region that includes Darwin, Alice Springs, and Uluru.
Unlike Australian states, territories have less autonomy—the federal government can override territorial laws.
The area is home to significant Aboriginal populations and sacred sites.
We drove through the Northern Territory on the way to Kakadu.
