flyposting

Unauthorized public advertising

Flyposting is putting up posters or advertisements in public places without permission—on walls, lampposts, construction barriers, anywhere visible.

The practice is typically illegal but common for promoting concerts, political causes, or underground events: The band flyposted the whole neighborhood before the show.

Also called billposting or wild posting.
