fluid pressure
Force per area
Fluid pressure is the force exerted by a liquid or gas on surfaces it contacts, measured as force per unit area.
Water pressure in pipes, air pressure in tires, and atmospheric pressure are all fluid pressures.
The pressure increases with depth—The fluid pressure at the bottom of the tank was twice what it was at the top—and acts equally in all directions at any given point.
