A floorer is something that knocks you down—literally or figuratively.
In boxing, a floorer is a punch that sends an opponent to the canvas.
More commonly, it's a question, remark, or piece of news so unexpected it leaves you momentarily stunned: That last exam question was a real floorer.
The word also applies to someone who installs floors.
