fit-out

Outfit a space

A fit-out is the process of finishing and equipping an interior space for occupancy—installing fixtures, furnishings, and systems in a building shell: The office fit-out took three months.

Common in British English and commercial real estate, it covers everything from lighting and flooring to workstations and HVAC.

As a verb, to fit out means to equip or furnish: They're fitting out the new headquarters.
