pathname
Directory location string
A pathname is the full address specifying a file's location in a computer's directory structure: The pathname /users/john/documents/report.pdf tells you exactly where to find the file.
Pathnames use separators—forward slashes on Unix systems, backslashes on Windows—to indicate nested folders.
