feelies

Hands-on sensory objects

Feelies are the tactile equivalent of movies—entertainment you experience through touch.

The term comes from Aldous Huxley's *Brave New World*, where audiences gripped metal knobs to feel sensations from the screen.

It now applies to any technology delivering haptic feedback for immersive experience: VR gloves, game controllers with vibration, or experimental cinema.

In a gentler sense, feelies are the physical extras bundled with video games—maps, trinkets, patches—things you can actually hold.
