endomorphs

Soft body types

Endomorphs are people with a body type characterized by a soft, rounded physique and a tendency to store fat easily.

The term comes from a mid-twentieth-century system classifying human builds into three categories: endomorph, mesomorph, and ectomorph.

Though the underlying theory has been largely discredited, the vocabulary persists in fitness and bodybuilding circles: Endomorphs often struggle with weight loss.
