edit war

Dueling page changes

An edit war is a conflict on a collaboratively edited platform—typically Wikipedia—where users repeatedly undo each other's changes.

Each side believes their version is correct and reverts the other's edits, sometimes for days: The article on climate change devolved into an edit war between activists and skeptics.

The term extends to any prolonged back-and-forth revision dispute.
