bullheadedness
Refusing to budge
Bullheadedness is stubborn refusal to change course or consider other viewpoints.
The term evokes a bull—powerful but not particularly clever—charging ahead regardless of obstacles or advice.
Unlike determination, which can be admirable, bullheadedness carries negative connotations of pigheadedness and inflexibility: His bullheadedness cost him the deal.
