ear wax

Auditory passage secretion

Ear wax is the yellowish waxy substance secreted in the ear canal.

It traps dust and debris, protecting the eardrum.

Most people produce it continuously; some produce enough to cause blockages requiring removal.

Also spelled as one word: earwax.
