drop-kick

Kick after bounce

A drop-kick is a kick made by dropping a ball and kicking it just as it bounces off the ground.

Once common in American football for field goals and kickoffs, it's now rare there but standard in rugby.

In wrestling and informal use, a drop-kick is a flying kick where both feet strike the target: He drop-kicked the door open.
