double vision

Two of everything

Double vision is seeing two images of a single object, either side by side or overlapping.

The medical term is diplopia.

It results from misalignment of the eyes or neurological issues, and commonly occurs with intoxication or head injuries: I took a blow to the head and had double vision for hours.

Figuratively, it can describe conflicting perspectives or unclear thinking.
