double pump

Double pump describes two rapid successive actions of a pumping mechanism.

In basketball, it's a fake where a shooter pumps the ball up twice before releasing, meant to draw defenders into the air: He double pumped and got the foul.

In video games, particularly shooters, double pumping exploits weapon mechanics by quickly switching between two pump-action shotguns to fire faster than intended: They patched the double pump because it was overpowered.
