doomers
Collapse expectation crowd
Doomers are people who believe catastrophe is inevitable or imminent—environmental collapse, societal breakdown, economic ruin.
The term carries mild derision, suggesting excessive pessimism or even a perverse satisfaction in predicting disaster: The doomers have been saying civilization will collapse for decades.
Climate doomers believe environmental damage is already irreversible.
In internet culture, doomer describes someone resigned to hopelessness, often depicted as a withdrawn figure in memes.
