Colon wall bulges
Diverticula are small pouches or sacs that bulge outward through weak spots in the walls of hollow organs, most commonly the colon.
A single pouch is a diverticulum.
When these pouches become inflamed or infected, the condition is called diverticulitis: The CT scan showed several diverticula in the sigmoid colon.
