deep house
Soulful club music
Deep house is a subgenre of house music characterized by slower tempos, soulful vocals, and atmospheric, layered production.
It emerged in the 1980s from Chicago and drew on jazz, soul, and funk influences.
The sound emphasizes warm basslines and hypnotic rhythms over the harder beats of mainstream house: The DJ shifted into deep house as the night wound down.
