decathletes
Versatile track competitors
Decathletes are athletes who compete in the decathlon, a grueling track-and-field event combining ten disciplines over two days: sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, and a distance run.
The event tests all-around athletic ability, and decathletes are often called the world's greatest athletes.
Olympic decathletes train year-round for their ten events.
