day centre
Daytime support service
A day centre is a facility providing daytime supervision, activities, and services for people who need support but don't require residential care—typically the elderly, disabled, or those with mental health conditions.
Staff offer meals, social activities, and sometimes medical attention while family caregivers are at work: Mum goes to the day centre three days a week.
Chiefly British spelling; Americans write day center.
