date format
How dates appear
A date format is the conventional arrangement of day, month, and year in written dates.
Different regions favor different formats: Americans write month/day/year (12/25/2024), while most of the world uses day/month/year (25/12/2024).
The international standard is year-month-day (2024-12-25).
These differences create confusion in cross-cultural communication, since 03/04/2024 could mean March 4th or April 3rd depending on context.
