crappies

Freshwater game fish

Crappies are North American freshwater fish popular with anglers, known for their flaky white flesh.

The two main species—black crappie and white crappie—are members of the sunfish family, found in lakes and slow-moving rivers across much of the United States.

We caught a dozen crappies off the dock this morning.
