counterplan
Rival course proposed
A counterplan is an alternative proposal offered in response to an existing plan, typically one that addresses the same problem differently.
In competitive debate, a counterplan is a strategy where the opposing side presents their own solution rather than simply attacking the original proposal: The negative team introduced a counterplan that achieved the same benefits without the costs.
