cosplaying
Wearing fictional costumes
Cosplaying is the activity of dressing up as a character from fiction, video games, anime, or other media, often with elaborate costumes and accessories crafted by the wearer.
The term blends "costume" and "play," and practitioners take pride in accuracy and craftsmanship.
Cosplaying is most visible at fan conventions, where participants pose for photos and compete in costume contests.
She spent months cosplaying as her favorite anime character.
