copassenger
Shared ride companion
A copassenger is someone traveling alongside you in the same vehicle, whether a bus, train, plane, or car.
The term is common in Indian English and in travel or insurance contexts, where it distinguishes fellow travelers from the driver or operator.
My copassenger on the flight turned out to be an old college friend.
In American and British English, fellow passenger is more typical.
