comic panels
Story in boxes
Comic panels are the individual frames or boxes that divide a comic page, each containing a discrete moment in the narrative.
The panel's borders, size, and arrangement guide readers through the sequence of action and dialogue.
Artists manipulate panel structure for pacing and emphasis—a wide panel might slow time for a panoramic view, while rapid small panels accelerate action: The fight scene used narrow vertical panels to convey speed.
