color blind
Seeing only grays
Color blind describes the inability to distinguish certain colors, most commonly red and green.
The condition is usually inherited and far more common in men.
Figuratively, color blind means deliberately ignoring racial differences: The hiring process should be color blind.
This usage can be either aspirational or criticized as naive.
Also spelled colorblind.
