night blindness
Poor dim vision
Night blindness is reduced ability to see in dim light or darkness, while vision remains normal in adequate lighting.
The condition results from problems with the rod cells in the retina, which handle low-light vision.
Causes include vitamin A deficiency, certain inherited conditions, and some eye diseases.
Also called nyctalopia.
