codriver
Reads the pacenotes
A codriver is the second person in a rally car, responsible for reading pace notes that describe the road ahead—turns, distances, hazards—while the driver focuses on speed.
The term extends to any secondary driver who shares driving duties on long trips: We took turns as codriver on the cross-country haul.
