coastguardsmen
Ocean rescue personnel
Coastguardsmen is the plural of coastguardsman—a member of a coast guard, the maritime service responsible for search and rescue, law enforcement, and safety at sea.
The term applies to enlisted personnel and officers alike: Three coastguardsmen pulled the survivors from the water.
The gender-neutral coastguard member is increasingly common.
