claymations

Molded figure films

Claymations are animated films or sequences made using clay figures that are repositioned and photographed frame by frame to create the illusion of movement.

The technique, also called stop-motion clay animation, produces a distinctive handcrafted look: Wallace and Gromit are classic claymations.

The singular claymation can refer to the technique itself or a single such production.
