chopstick

Wooden eating stick

Chopsticks are a pair of slender sticks used as eating utensils, held in one hand and manipulated to pick up food.

They originated in East Asia and remain the primary utensil in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese cuisine.

The singular chopstick is rare—they function as a pair: I never learned to use chopsticks properly.
