checkerboards
Sixty-four square surfaces
Checkerboards are game boards divided into 64 squares of alternating colors, typically black and white or red and black.
The pattern itself is called a checkerboard pattern and appears on racing flags, floor tiles, and anywhere alternating squares create visual contrast: The kitchen floor had a classic checkerboard design.
