Alternating square pattern
Checkerboarding is a pattern of alternating elements like the squares on a checkerboard.
In real estate, it describes the deliberate practice of moving Black families into white neighborhoods to trigger white flight and depress property values—a tactic used by unscrupulous speculators.
In computing, it refers to a rendering artifact where pixels alternate in a grid pattern, creating visible distortion.
