cocotte
Small baking dish
A cocotte is a small, lidded cooking pot, typically made of enameled cast iron, used for braising and slow-cooking: The recipe calls for a Dutch oven or cocotte.
In older usage, cocotte was a French euphemism for a prostitute or kept woman, now rarely encountered outside period literature.
