butterfly stitch

Adhesive wound strip

A butterfly stitch is a thin adhesive strip used to hold the edges of a minor wound together, functioning like stitches without needle and thread.

The strips are narrow in the middle and flare at each end—hence the butterfly shape.

Also called a butterfly bandage or Steri-Strip: The cut wasn't deep enough for real stitches, so they used butterfly stitches.
